I’m not sure about you, but I always had an urge to write about a subject matter that I was very passionate about. Oftentimes, we may have these big dreams about starting a blog, or writing professionally for an organization; but we might not always know the easiest or best way to start. Lucky for you, I was able to start my content writing career on the platform Medium.

Medium is a blog writing community where content creators can write about any topic they want. It is a great way to start your content writing career fast, inexpensively, along with a way to make money at it too. Follow along as I go into detail on how to get started, tips and tricks, and even walk you through the monetization process.

MEDIUM IN A MINUTE: WHAT IS MEDIUM?

Medium is a pretty well-known website and blog writing community online, so maybe you heard of it. Although, if not, let me explain what Medium is — that way this blog will make a LOT more sense.

Medium was essentially created by the same founder of Twitter. Just to point out some similarities, Twitter is a free-speech platform where users can write what they want…but within 280 characters. Medium, on the other hand, is an open platform where content creators and writers are able to write on any topic of the subject matter without restrictions on word count. Medium also provides the website and built-in template for creating great online content without each freelancer writer having to create and maintain their own website. The latter can be quite time-consuming and expensive, so it’s a great place to get started.
